WHAT IS HALO SUCTION THERAPY?

Halo Suction Therapy is a form of Manual Manipulation or Manual Therapy.  The joints such as the knee are very complex and have tissues that move in multiple directions.  When these tissues are injured or abused they may swell or become stiff.  Manual Manipulation is moving the joint to stretch tissues beyond what happens in normal motion.  This regularly applies to the the patellae (knee cap) area and the connecting tissues as the physical therapist will move the patellae side to side or up and down.  The patellae moves more freely when the leg is straight, but if the tissues are swollen or tight this manipulation may be difficult.

Halo Suction Therapy makes manual therapy easy.  The bellows on the device secure the patellae area and allow for lifting and moving.  The handle facilitates the therapy.

This lifting and moving of the patellae area reduces pressure, increases blood flow and allows for the connecting tissues to be stretched.  Loosening the joint tissues may bring relief even after the therapy.

DOES IT WORK

Kevin L. says "YES".

Pro football abused his knees.  Years of pain, headed toward replacements, difficulty just walking, and osteoarthritis.  Now he rarely takes anti-inflamitories and can even run again.

Scot S. is another user that finds instant relief from sore and swollen knees.

Basketball is Scot's sport, but it left him with two ACL surgeries and regular pain.  Now that he is older his knees have aged quickly.  With Halo Suction Therapy he can loosen his tight joints, play again, and recover faster.

HOW TO USE

Do not use Halo Suction Therapy if you have open sores, stitches or bandages in the treatment area.  Consults your physical therapists about use.

  1. Place the bellows opening over the patellae (knee cap) directly on bare skin.

  2. Secure the wrap around the leg with the velcro closure.

  3. Press down on the handle and pull up to ensure a good suction.  Re-tighten the wrap to adjust the seal with the skin.  Suction should last for 3-5 seconds min for good treatment.

  4. Treatment options:

  • pull up and hold for 3-5 seconds

  • pull up in cycles - 1 second - 10-15 repetitions

  • pull up and move the patellae side to side, up and down, angle by rotating handle.

  5. Repeat as desired.

Undo the wrap to remove.  A slight red mark around the patellae will indicate good suction was achieved.

Use before and / or after workouts.

Stop if it hurts.

Consult your physical therapist for best use.
